Once again warm sunny weather greeted everyone at Oulton Park, and Michael Rutter (HM Plant Honda) was in his usual good form, being in pole position until the very last lap of qualifying when John Reynolds (Rizla Suzuki) took it from him. Dean Thomas (Sendo Ducati) qualified 3rd with Yukio Kagayama (Rizla Suzuki) completing the front row of the grid. RACE 1 Kagayama led the race for the first three laps then Reynolds took over. Rutter was down in the pack but worked his way up to 3rd place by passing Dean Thomas. Kagayama was stuck to Reynolds exhaust pipes like glue, until on the final lap when he nipped through on the inside at Lodge Corner to take the win. Leon Haslam (Renegade Ducati) had the unfortunate luck to crash out of a top six place on the last lap. James Ellison (Jentin Yamaha) was the winner of the Superbike Cup, even mixing it with the factory bikes in 4th place for the first three laps. He was followed home by Dennis Hobbs and Sam Corke. RACE 2 Gary Mason (Virgin Mobile Yamaha) led on the opening lap, but was quickly overtaken by Reynolds and Kagayama. Once again the race was dominated by the Rizla Suzuki pair, with Kagayama taking the lead on lap14 and holding on for a well deserved double win. Rutter had to work his way up to 3rd again with Thomas finishing in 4th. This time Haslam stayed on board to finish 6th. Ellison took his second double win of the series, with Jon Kirkham (Suzuki) 2nd and James Buckingham (Suzuki) 3rd. SUPERSPORT Karl Harris (HM Plant Honda) and Michael Laverty (Monstermob Ducati) dominated the Supersport race, finishing 1st and 2nd. Jay Vincent (Padgets Honda) and Simon Andrews (Piranha Yamaha) both rode well to finish in 3rd and 4th places. SUPERSTOCK The National Superstock Race was the first race of the day, and was won by reigning Champion Andy Tinsley (Suzuki). Mark Heckles (Yamaha) did really well to finish 2nd after his big crash at Snetterton last week. Tinsley's team mate Tristan Palmer (Suzuki) finished 3rd.
