The weather managed to stay dry and sunny nearly all weekend. Frankie Chili (Ducati) was fastest all weekend in qualifying, but when it came to Superpole he went out last and his bike broke down. This left Regis Laconi (Ducati) on pole with Chris Vermeulen (Honda), Noriyuki Haga (Ducati) and James Toseland (Ducati) joining him on the front row of the grid. Leon Haslam (Ducati) had a good Superpole lap to take 5th place on the grid. Chris Walker (Foggy Petronas) crashed in Saturday morning qualifying, breaking 3 ribs, but managed to get into Superpole in 16th. He picked up a couple of places with his Superpole lap. James Ellison (Jentin Yamaha), a wild card entrant was on top form finishing 7th in Superpole. RACE 1 Chris Vermeulan got the hole-shot off the line with Haga hot on his heels. Vermeulan led for the whole race with Haga challenging him for the lead, until the final corner on the final lap when Haga got through to win by 0.25 secs. Chili came through from 16th on the grid to take 3rd place. James Ellison crashed out after 2 laps, Chris Walker, James Toseland and Regis Laconi also crashed out. Leon Haslam had a good ride to finish in 5th place. RACE 2 Vermeulen got the hole-shot again with Haga in close attendance all through the race, but this time Vermeulen held on for the win. Haga was 2nd with Laconi in 3rd, and Haslam having another excellent ride to finish 4th. James Ellison had a good ride this time to finish 7th, and James Toseland finished 5th. Chris Walker rode through the pain barrier to finish in 12th place. SUPERSPORT The
Superspoert race was won by Fabian Foret (Ymaha) with Karl Muggeridge
(Honda) in 2nd, Broc Parkes (Honda) 3rd, and Lorenzo Lanzi (Ducati)
finishing 4th.
