CADWELL PARK ROUND 11 30/08/04 RACE 1 Michael Rutter and Ryuichi Kiyonari led from lap 1 until the end of the race. Yukio Kagayama was soon into 3rd place, but John Reynolds had one of his rare crashes on lap 5. Scott Smart was in 4th place but pitted half way through the race, he rejoined in last place. Tommy Hill was going well and had one of his best finishes in 5th. Steve Plater crashed at the hairpin and the race was stopped and cut short by 3 laps. James Haydon rode well to work his way up to 4th after being boxed in at the start in 10th place. Jon Kirkham won the Superbike Cup race from James Ellison and Chris Martin (Suzuki). RACE 2 It started to rain just as the grid was forming for race 2, resulting in a heavy shower and a wet track. The start was delayed, but by then it had actually stopped raining, proving to be a lottery for tyre choice. Kagayama was in the lead on lap 1, with Smart and Haydon in hot pursuit. Unfortunately Haydon started to fall back due to having a wet front tyre on the drying track. He was eventually caught and passed by Glen Richards, then ran onto the grass, trying too hard, at the new chicane, letting Sean Emmett and Dean Thomas through. But he stayed on board to finish 6th, and the only Virgin Mobile Yamaha to finish the race. James Ellison won the privateers race from Sam Corke and Gus Scott (Suzuki). SUPERSPORT Leon Camier (Honda) had qualified in pole, but unfortunately crashed out of the race on lap 2. Karl Harris (Honda) also went out on lap 2 when he lost his chain. The race was won by Jay Vincent (Honda) from Tom Sykes (Suzuki). Stuart Easton (Ducati) was back on form coming through to finish in 3rd, with Michael Laverty (Ducati) in 4th. SUPERSTOCK Lee Jackson
(Yamaha) had qualified on pole, but could not capitalise on it. The
race was won by Julien Da Costa (Kawasaki) from Danny Beaumont (Yamaha),
Marshall Neill (Suzuki) and Steve Allan (Kawasaki).
