SUPERBIKES

Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla were in charge on the Airwaves Ducatis during qualifying, with them in 1st and 2nd position.  Shane Byrne (Suzuki) and Tommy Hill (Yamaha) joined them on the front row of the grid.  With Lavilla down in 9th place it was the two HM Plant Honda's that lead the way, with Ryuichi Kiyonari taking the lead on lap 2.  Haslam was slowly working his way up to take over 2nd place on lap 8.  It took Lavilla 12 laps to work his way through the pack to 2nd place with Haslam then in the lead.  Lavilla took over the lead on lap 16 and then pulled away to win by 5 seconds after 18 laps.  Haslam finished 2nd, Kiyonari 3rd and Byrne 4th.

Byrne actually lead the second race for 2 laps, until Lavilla took over, with Byrne going out on lap 8, Haslam was then in 2nd place, with Harris 3rd, until he made a mistake on the penultimate lap.  This left Haslam to take the win by 5 seconds from Lavilla, with Jonathan Rea (Honda) 3rd and Hill 4th.
