SUPERBIKES Ryuichi Kiyonari (HM Plant Honda) was back into his winning ways at Mallory Park by taking the win in race 1, leading from the start. He was followed home by Airwaves Ducati's Leon Haslam in second. Gregorio Lavilla on the other Airwaves Ducati seemed to be "asleep" for most of the race, being in 6th, then dropping to 7th place for a while. He was up to 4th place by lap 13, then inherited 3rd place and a podium finish on lap 21 when Jonathan Rea (Red Bull Honda) crashed at the Bus Stop. Rizla Suzuki's Shane Byrne came home in 4th place. Race 2 was a different story, with Lavilla back to his normal best as it only took him 6 laps to move from 3rd into the lead, and to take the win. Haslam was 2nd again and Kiyonari had to settle for 3rd. Karl Harris on the other HM Plant Honda got revenge over Michael Rutter (Stobart Honda) for forcing him wide at the hairpin in race 1, when he passed him to take 4th place. |
