SNETTERTON Round 5 20/05/07

Snetterton belonged to the HM Plant Honda racing team, with Ryuichi Kiyonari winning both races and his team mate Jonathan Rea taking two close second places.  Rea started the races from the front row of the grid, with Kiyonari starting from the second row.  Shane Byrne put his Stobart Honda on pole, but retired from the first race with a mechanical problem, then came back fighting in the second race to take a podium finish in 3rd place. His young team mate, Tom Sykes, had a good weekend with two 4th places.  Leon Haslam, on his Airwaves Ducati, was on the podium in 3rd place in race 1 and finished 5th in race 2.  His experienced team mate, Gregorio Lavilla did not have such a good weekend.  After starting from the front row of the grid he finished 6th in race 1, but retired in race 2.

Leon Camier, on the Bike Animal Honda, was the sensation of the weekend.  After completing only 2 laps in qualifying, due to a technical problem, he was allowed to start from the back row of the grid.  After making two sensational starts and working his way through the pack he finished 5th in the first race and 6th in the second race.
